The Muranga University of Technology library serves as the university’s knowledge and information centre. The library’s primary responsibility is to identify and meet the information needs of the university community in a timely and effective manner. The library has a vision, vision statements, strategic objectives, and a policy to guide it in fulfilling this noble and high calling.

The Library policy provides a framework for the provision of library and information services in line with the university’s vision of being “a leading University in Technological Innovation, Research, and Training”, and mission of “advancing knowledge and technological transfer through teaching, training, learning, research, and innovation for sustainable development”.
The library policy offers guidelines on the core library functions, roles and activities. The policy serves as a valuable guide for the library’s strategic choices. The policy outlines policies for library administration, library admission and use, library security, library budget, library collection development, institutional repository, and information literacy.

A section used for processing the library resources includes stamping, cataloguing, classification, barcode and call number pasting.
